A Roman mosaic was discovered beneath a farm in Verona, Italy. “Part of the flooring and foundations of the Roman Villa have been uncovered by scholars over a century ago,” it says.
“Following that, the Superintendence will work with the landowners and the municipality to discover the best means to make this archaeological treasure available, open, and visible under our feet.”
The outcome will take time, and large resources will be required. Finally, it’s critical to keep track of the road.”
Excavation on the site ceased in 1922, but was resumed last summer by a team from Verona’s Superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape.
The intriguing discovery was uncovered shortly after. A tweet from archaeologist Myko Clelland, who discovered the find online, has subsequently gone viral.
