In a potentially disastrous moment, a 12-year-old girl from Easley, South Carolina, turned an interrupted audition on “America’s Got Talent” into an unforgettable experience for both the judges and the audience.
When Ansley began her rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Think,” judge Simon Cowell abruptly stopped her, criticizing the background music as “horrible, horrible.”
After a brief pause, Cowell suggested that Ansley sing without any musical accompaniment. Though initially surprised, she graciously agreed, even taking a playful sip of water from Cowell’s cup, which he jokingly referred to as “magic water.” The audience and judges responded with enthusiastic applause.
With newfound confidence, Ansley began singing the song with the grace and poise of a seasoned performer.
Her performance captivated all four judges, earning unanimous “yes” votes and advancing her to the next round.
